Privacy policy

This website was built by the TalkLab Consortium, based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, for NHS London and the London Deanery.

TalkLab's Better Conversations programme is an educational project initiated and supported by the London Deanery Simulation and Technology-enhanced Learning Initiative (STeLI).

The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you about what information we collect when you use this website, how we use the information, whether the information is disclosed, and the ways in which we protect your privacy.

What information do we collect?

We collect anonymous information about you whenever you use TalkLab Better Conversations. This information includes:

  • Your IP address, to help us determine where our users come from;

  • The type of device you are using to access the website;

  • What parts of the website you used, in what order, and for how long;

  • A unique session identifier, to link this information together.

This information helps us understand how people are using Better Conversations and to make improvements to the website.

If you take part in the Talk Lab evaluation, we will collect and store the responses you give to any questionnaires you partially or wholly complete. Your responses will be identified by a unique session identifier, which allows us to link your answers to information about how you used the website. We will use this information to evaluate whether TalkLab Better Conversations is an effective educational tool, and to make improvements to the website.

If you choose to complete Talk Lab Better Conversations for CPD credit, we store a code that allows your CPD certificate to be verified as authentic. This code is derived from your name, however we do not store your name directly.

If you contact us or place an order for Talklab materials, we and our suppliers will use the details you provide to respond to your request. We will not share these details with anyone else.

Will the information collected be disclosed?

The TalkLab Consortium does not share data with other organisations unless the law permits it to do so. It does not sell individual information
